Panther Golf - News

The Anahuac Lady Panther golf team traveled to Tyler, Texas to compete in the Regional Golf Tournament on April 20th and 21st.  The girls entered the competition in last place, but after the first day had moved up to 10th position.  Senior Dominique Williams finished her golf career with a 107 on Monday and a 112 on Tuesday.  Dominique is a three year varsity player that has worked hard not only to lower her golf scores but to also graduate in three years.  Her dedication and hard work to the sport will be missed.  Senior Linda Galvan finished her golf career at Anahuac with her best scores of the season; she shot a 134 on Monday and lowered it to a 124 on Tuesday.  Sophomore Ronni Abshier also saw her best score of the season, she is a first year golfer and shot a 144 on the first day, but figured out the course and was able to lower her score on the second day to a 128.  Sophomore Bria Moore finished the season with a 129 on the first day and was penalized on the second day and disqualified.  She was very disappointed, but sometimes things like that happen and we learned an important lesson for the future.  Emily Baker was the star of the two days for the Anahuac Lady Panther team.  She has been the scoring leader all year, but shot her personal best on both days.  Baker scored a 93 on the first day and bettered that score with a  89 on the second day.  Baker has worked hard to improve her scores this year and is looking forward to improving those scores next year.

Congratulate these girls for the hard work they have put in this year.  Thanks to the parents and others who have supported these girls throughout the season.
