Special Education
The Anahuac Independent School District provides special education services for students who reside within the district’s boundaries. Special Education is designed for students ages three through twenty-one with a disability and educational need for services. Students are served through a continuum of placement options from mainstreaming to self-contained classrooms based on the individual needs of the students as determined by the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee. All campuses have a Content Mastery Center to provide reinforcement for instructions provided in the regular classroom. A Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD) serving students ages three to five is also available. If you are the parent of a preschool or school-aged child and concerned about a physical, speech, emotional, or academic problem that might interfere with your child’s educational success, you are encouraged to contact Anahuac ISD, Mrs. Theresa Franklin, Director of Special Education, P. O. Box 1270, Anahuac, Texas 77514, (409) 267-2016. |
